FAQs

  • Why should I sign up to your mailing list?

We love to have your on our mailing list, cause it is like being part of our checked family! On our newsletter, which we write and put together ourselves, we let you know about news on our little world and it's also where we advertise, earlier than anywhere else, about new product launches and promos, for you to enjoy first! All with a focus on sustainability and a Spanish flavour, of course. We usually send a newsletter email every week or 2, and you can always unsubscribe! Hope to see you there!

Also, get a gift from us when you sign up!

  • What is my size?

Our garments are floaty, loose fitting and meant to be (super) comfortable. We really put a lot of thought into this! Some of our models are “one size only”, others have 2 available sizes, others have 3 or more sizes available, it really depends. Please refer to the description of each garment.

The size scale* we use is:

New! Size 0: XXS or 34 French sizing - 6 UK sizing

Size 1: XS-S or 36/38 French sizing - 8/10 UK sizing

Size 2: M-L or 40/42 French sizing - 12/14 UK sizing

New! Size 3: XL or 44 French sizing or 16 UK sizing

Size Chart

*Please note this is French sizing. To convert to German sizes we suggest to choose one size up.

For shoes we use European sizing, please see this conversion chart

We recommend that you take the size you normally buy, however if still unsure, please contact us at hi@ginghampalace.com or DM on Instagram for further item measurements/personalised advice.

  • What is pre-ordering?

At Gingham Palace we mostly work with a pre-order model: we design, sample and launch small collections -to be pre-ordered and purchased* - on our web.

During those days you can buy the items you wish and in the item’s description you will see the “ship by date”. Once the item is shipped, we will let you know via email too, with the tracking details. Our aim is to ship to you in the following weeks.

Typically, we start production as soon as we launch the pre-order sale and these items will be ready to ship approximately 1-4 weeks later.

Other items from our collections will be ready to ship. This is because we have launched a small production, sourced them in advance or have commissioned them to a fellow creator (or have been returned to us). This will be indicated on the item’s description too and when bought, they will be shipped to you that same day/following day.

All of our items are produced in a local atelier in Madrid. All items are then shipped from Madrid.

*Pre-order products must be fully paid for at the time of purchase.

  • When will I receive my order?

By the item’s description there will be an indication of the ship by date, if on pre-order. Please note we are a very small team and delays can still occur (eg. our seamstress is sick, we are on holiday) - if this happens, it will be notified to you via email.

If you want to order an item for which there is stock of and an item on pre-order, note these will be shipped together once the item on pre-order is ready. If you’d like to receive the item that is ready sooner, please place 2 separate orders.

  • What are the shipping options, shipping countries, delivery times and how much does shipping cost?

As a sustainable brand, we have searched for the most economical and ecological shipping methods and rates. We have different rates for different shipping zones, and by using standard shipping, our orders are transported by road, minimising CO2 emissions and the cost.

Shipping generally takes 2 to 5 (working) days, depending on the destination.

And we know it... we all hate shipping costs... so we try to have a simple and straightforward rate. Believe us when we say we wish we wouldn't have to charge for this!

Please see the list of countries we currently ship to and the rates below:

  • Spain, peninsular: 5€:
  • Balearic Islands & Portugal*: 7€

With the scraps of our fabrics we produce a very simple yet chic (and definitely useful) hair scrunchie. We will insert (if in stock) a left-over fabric scrunchie with every clothing order as a present for shopping sustainably with us!

      • How do I take care of my Gingham Palace garment?

Our products are made in natural fibres, so they are easy to take care of. For most of our garments, that are 100% cotton, care is dead simple! Just pop in the washing machine with similar colours and wash at 30ºC, which is an eco-friendly temperature and recommended in order to prolong the life of your garments: washing at the lowest possible temperature helps you to cut CO2 emissions, save energy and help the environment... Not only do clothes retain their colour for longer when washed at lower temperatures, but there is also less wear of the textile. If there is a particular stain, we recommend that you spot treat it first. It's ok to put in the tumble-dryer, like other cotton garments, and ironing is super easy too!

All our items are 100% cotton so they can be ironed normally. Please never iron on top of elasticated parts, as the elastic bands can be damaged.

Baby corduroy garments: these need to be washed separately the 1st times, as they can release dye. To prolong the colour of these items, we recommend you to pre-soak them in warm water with a handful of salt upon the 1st wash. Iron them inside out and then using a cloth on top to finish it off, to avoid the corduroy becoming shiny.

Wool garments: wool garments don’t stain easily, but if you get a minor food stain on them, you can brush it off with a clothing brush.

Alternatively, if your pants get a little wrinkled in a suitcase, they’re easy to smooth out. Simply hang them up while you shower and watch the steam release minor wrinkles.

Hand-washing your wool garments is most advised for preserving the long-term vitality of your garment. To wash your wool garments by hand, first, turn them inside out. Next, wash them in lukewarm water using a mild detergent. After that, let them soak for about 10 minutes before rinsing them in lukewarm water and then cold water. Flat dry them out of direct sunlight.

You can machine wash your garments if your washing machine has a wool cycle or delicate cycle. Wash your garments inside out with a wool detergent, in a not more than 50% full load (to avoid squishing them). After the cycle is over, don’t put your wool pants into the dryer ans flat dry them out of direct sunlight.

If you have heavier stains on your pants or you wear them frequently, dry-cleaning is a less time-consuming cleaning method than hand-washing. Most wool pants typically need to be dry-cleaned after four or five wears, though you may be able to wear some garments up to 20 times if they don’t get dirty. Remember, the chemicals in dry-cleaning can harm your clothes, so if you can refresh your pants yourself, you should. Remember to take the wool garments out of the plastic bag and iron hanger, which are both damaging for your garments.

      • What if the item is faulty, damaged or there is a colour variation?

All our garments are hand made, so even if we put all our efforts into creating perfect and beautiful garments, faults can happen or an item can be damaged. Our most sincere apologies should this occur.

Please get in touch at hi@ginghampalace.com as soon as you discover the fault/damage or wrong item (and no later than 14 days after the delivery) and we will examine the case and come up with a solution (return and refund, refund or other).

Please note that we take care to make the colour of the items on the photos look as close to reality as possible. We shoot the fabric and describe the colour. However, computer screens or mobile phones may not truly represent the actual colours that our garments are in real life.

We also provide with accurate garment descriptions, styling tips and model and garment measures to make sure you choose the correct size for you.

Therefore, we won't accept "not true to size"or "colour different in real life" as a garment flaw.

      • Where can I buy Gingham Palace garments?

We only sell our garments via our online store (luckily that’s were you are!). You won’t find them anywhere else and we want to keep it like this for the moment being. This way we control our distribution and we ensure a fair margin for all the parties involved, which is what keeps us alive (business speaking!).

We sometimes do real life shopping events and pop ups, sign up to our newsletter or follow us on Insta to be informed about these events!

      • I am an artist/creator, can we collaborate?
